Don Compton, age 88, of Centerville, Ohio passed away August 12, 2018.
He was born in Davenport, Virginia on December 14, 1929 to the late Will and Nora (Hess) Compton.
Don served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of VFW Post 9927 in Kettering, Ohio and Far Hills Baptist Church.
Don was a foreman with General Motors for 38 years. He enjoyed the outdoors, bluegrass music and spending time with his family. His grandson Matt was the light of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lena, daughter Cathy, and seven siblings (Don was the last member of his immediate family).
Don is survived by his daughter Darlene (Ron) Lowe; grandson Matt (Kerri) Larrick; great granddaughter Kinsleigh Larrick; as well as extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held, Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home, Beavercreek Chapel. Burial will follow in David's Cemetery in Kettering, Ohio.
Friends and family may visit from 9-11:00 am on Thursday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to the Ohio Veterans Home in Georgetown, Ohio.
