Dolores I. Ford (Dee), 75, of Centerville, OH passed away Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton with family by her side. Dolores was born July 23, 1938 in Springfield, Ohio, the daughter of Perry and Emma (Wanda) James.
Dolores was a graduate of Mount Vernon Academy Class of '56. She enjoyed attending her high school class reunions and catching up with old friends. She attended Andrews University and worked as in--house bookkeeper/accountant for a number of businesses in the Springfield, Ohio area including the Y.W.C.A., Hollandia Botanical Gardens, Meeks Sporting Goods and Brite Strip (formerly Springfield Impregnators). Dolores married Elden Ford in 1958. They were married 40 years until his death in 1998. Dolores semi--retired to Centerville, Ohio, where she began Affordable Bed Bug business in 2010. Dolores was a lifelong member of the Seventh--day Adventist (SDA) Church. She served in various church offices, and Home and School programs while at Springfield SDA Church and Children's Puppet Ministry at the Kettering SDA Church. She was a spiritual person who loved the Lord and her family. She loved to sing, travel, read and knit beautiful baby booties and blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents Perry and Emma (Wanda) James; husband, Marvin (Elden) Ford; and grandson, Connor Bentley. She is survived by her children, Jeff (Tricia) Ford of Spring Grove, PA, Doug (Kim) Ford of South Vienna, OH, and Julie (Tom) Bentley of Roseburg, OR; grandchildren, Adam (Beth) Ford of Sherman Oaks, CA, Austin (Nancy) Ford of Santa Cruz, CA, Elden (Andy) Ford of Collegedale, TN, Kylie (Dan) Roncolato of South Vienna, OH, Ethan Ford, Tyler Ford and Eliakim Bentley; great grandson; Brody Roncolato, sister, Alice Modlin of Lancaster, CA, and many nieces and nephews. Dolores will be missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Dee's Life will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 3:00 – 6:00 P.M. at Kettering Seventh-Day Adventist Church Fellowship Hall, 3939 Stonebridge Road, Dayton, Ohio 45419. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel.
