Dolores "Dee" A. Raters

Dolores "Dee" A. Raters, age 87 of Dayton, OH passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 13, 2024. She was born March 3, 1937 in Johnstown, PA daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Sustersich) Dolgas.

Dee was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was a faithful member of St. Peters Catholic Church. She was a volunteer at the church for many years, assisting them with their annual festivals. She worked at Elder-Beerman in retail where she loved assisting others. She was an artist, who had a passion for painting and sharing her work. She enjoyed vacationing at the beach, going to the ocean, swimming, cooking, was an avid reader, and loved spending time with her family. She was an animal lover, and cared for many pet cats over the years. Dee is going to be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Eugene "Gene" Raters; and brother, Robert Dolgas.

Dee is survived by her sons, Doug (Janet) Raters, Dave (Robin) Raters, Chris Raters, and Michael Raters; grandchildren, Amanda (Neil), Allison, Scott, Steven (Haley), Luke, and Chloe; great grandchildren, Brantley, Larkin, Delilah, and Eva; her beloved cat, Mildred Pierce as well as several other family members and friends. 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 9:30am-10:30am at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424. A funeral service will begin at 10:30am. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
