Dolores Jean Collins, age 82 of Spring Valley, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2017. She was born in Xenia to the late Dewey and Lydia Roberts. Dolores had a caring and compassionate heart and worked as a caregiver for many years. She was an excellent musician and enjoyed playing and listening. She especially loved listening to Blue Grass.
Dolores was a passionate believer and loved the Lord with all her heart. Dolores was an amazing cook and loved to make sweets and home made meals for her family, she had a wonderful gift for crocheting and quilting. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
In addition to Dolores' parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Collins; siblings, Webb Wisecup, Robert Wisecup, George Wisecup, David Wisecup, Helen McGowen, Ruth Dunn, and Deloris Wisecup; and nieces, Sharon McClannohan and Darlene Wisecup.
Dolores leaves to cherish her memory, children, Richard (Natalie) Thorman, Johnda (Jim) Fox, Charles (Connie) Thorman, and Thomas (Bonnie) Thorman; grandchildren, Traci Denwiddie, Lori Denwiddie, Carroll Michell Bocanegra, Michael Anthony Thorman, Ryan Fox, Robert Fox, Russell Fox, Charles Thorman II, Melissa Thorman, Michael Thorman, Thomas Thorman, Carrie Sue Delgado, Hollie Jean Mendoza, and Dawn Haught; 26 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Carol Baldwin; special nieces, Donna Blizzard and Jaunita Reed; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Dolores's life will be held on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Beavercreek Chapel, at 11am. The family will greet guests for one hour prior (10am-11am).
