Doie Abney
ABNEY, Doie Glenn, age 72 went to his final home and into the arms of Jesus Saturday, August 20, 2011.
He was born August 10, 1939 in Hilham, TN. He retired from GM Truck and Bus, was a barber in the Dayton area for 35 years, and was an avid raccoon hunter. Doie was also a member of Patterson Park Church.
He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Cynthia and six wonderful children; five sons and one precious daughter, Steve (Melinda), Mike (Charlotte), Joie, Darrell, Kim (Bub), and Andrew (Teresa); eight grandchildren, Travis (Kim), Darrell Nathen, Tatum (Nick), Megan, Molly (Kyle) Brandon, JP, and Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Sophie, Jordyn, and Phillip; and Three special cousins, Lois Moore, Don Davis, and Jesse Lucas.
The family would like to thank the staff of Kettering Medical ICU and Hospice of Dayton for the care they gave their Dad.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 23, 2011 from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton –Xenia Rd., pastors Dale Kurtz and David Faile presiding. Interment at Byron Cemetery.
