Dock Pennington, age 87 of Dayton, passed away September 14, 2014. He was born July 1, 1927 in Salyersville, KY to the late Claude and Rissie Ellen Pennington. In addition to his parents, Dock was preceded in death by his daughter, Dena Pennington; 4 brothers: Wade, Clyde, Clark and Calvin; and 3 sisters: Mavis, Dora and Norma.
Dock is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Jessie Pennington; son and daughter-in-law: Michael and Lisa Pennington; daughter and son-in-law: Verna and Pete Pietrzak; 4 grandchildren: Michael Pennington, Jr., Christopher "CJ" (Courtney) Pennington, Adam (Stephanie) Pietrzak and Sarah (Greg) Siracusa; 3 great grandchildren: Ashley, Natalie and Marek Pietrzak; sister, Nella Gibson; brothers: Boyd Pennington and Hassel (Pat) Pennington; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Dock was a longtime owner of Pennington Blacktop and attended Northridge Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday. Pastor Tim Hamilton officiating. Burial to follow at Willow View Cemetery. Contributions may be made in Dock's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
