Dr. Dilip R. Ballal passed away peacefully on Nov. 23rd 2012.
He was the Hans von Ohain Distinguished Professor and director of the von Ohain Fuels & Combustion Center at the University of Dayton. Most recently, he was the recipient of the Tom Sawyer Award, which is the highest award given to an individual who has made a lifetime of scholarly contributions to advancing gas turbine technology.
He is survived by his wife, Shubhangi, son and daughter Rahul & Deepti, daughter-in-law Sonia, granddaughters Sameena & Shyla, and family & friends.
Funeral services will be held on Nov 28th 2012 at the Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel), 3940 South Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH at 1pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to the Dr. Dilip R. Ballal Memorial Tribute Fund at www.LUNGevity.org.
