Diane P. (Wilcox) Milligan, age 73 of Huber Heights, passed away Friday night after an unexpected hospitalization and 10 day fight in the ICU at Good Samaritan Hospital. Diane eventually lost the battle with infection and breathing complications. Diane was born in Worthington, MN on April 1, 1937, later moved with her family to Yuma, AZ where she graduated high school and met her future husband Leon in 1954 later marrying in Nov. 1956. Diane and Leon traveled the world with the Air Force, had two children and settled in San Antonio in 1965. Shortly after Leon's death in June, 2003 Diane moved to Ohio to be with her son Michael and his family. Diane was a loving, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was an inspiration to her family. She enjoyed attending and watching family sporting events, sewing and quilting.
She leaves behind many friends across the country. She is survived by her children: son and daughter-in law Michael and Theresa Milligan, daughter and son-in-law Nena and Bruce McMillan. Grandchildren, Robert, Brian, and Jennifer Schroeder, Evan McNiel, Virginia Pruitt, Malory, Lindsey and Tyler Milligan, Amber and Steve Fox, Brandy McMillan, Myrah and Ben Wilburn. Great-grandchildren Angelina and Cloe McNiel, Chase, Rylee, Austin, Carlee,and Aylssa Schroeder. Not to be forgotten her beloved dogs, Roxie and Rascal. Her family would like to extend a special Thank You to all of the thoughtful and caring caregivers that visited her home and ones in the ICU.
A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, 5:00 – 6:00 pm.
