Diane D. (Hughes) King daughter of Thomas Hughes and Delores Andriot, passed away on February 7, 2021 and was survived by her beloved husband Ronald King, her daughters, Jill (Daniel) Keeton (Steve Keeton) and Brooke (Stanton) Hayslip, her Step-Son, Zachary King, Grandchildren, Steven E. Keeton (Mallory Williams), Madison VanHoose, Xander Hayslip and Ivy King Great Grandchildren, Elijah and Charlotte Keeton, her Sister-in-Law Katherine King and Brother-in-Law, Donald King as well as her cousin and childhood best friend, Patricia (Jones) MacVeigh (Rich MacVeigh) and family.
Diane loved her family and friends and animals of all kinds, especially her dogs, Gracie, Mya, Piper, Sweet Pea and Jake, and her pet iguana, Toroc. She enjoyed doing crafts such as painting, coloring and crocheting. She liked long talks on the phone and writing letters.
She enjoyed being in the sun but always loved the soft rolling thunder of a summer storm. They were the perfect opportunity to play a good game of Scrabble. She would join in on board games of all kinds and tackle a 1000 piece puzzle as if there was nothing to it.
Diane loved to cook and would feed you until you almost burst. She was generous and outgoing to the point where strangers were just friends she hadn't met yet. But above all, she was mostly content to spend time at home with her husband, family and pets.
Family will receive friends Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 3 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 4 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton. The state of Ohio is under a mandatory mask order and has required that face masks be worn in all public places.
In lieu of flowers, we are asking that you please make a donation to your local animal rescue or no kill shelter in her name.
