Diana Sue Ellington

Diana Sue Ellington, age 73 of Fairborn, OH passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. She was born January 28, 1948 in Paintsville, Kentucky to Hubert and Chloe "Billy" (Blanton) Daniels. She was happily married to Theodore "Duke" Ellington for 24 years.

Diana graduated from Fairborn High School in 1966. She enjoyed reading, watching cooking shows, and was the "Queen of Shopping". Diana and Duke loved traveling and visiting family and above all, she loved her dog Bandit. She loved her grandchildren, but really enjoyed watching her daughter with her grandchildren, and spending time with them. The family would like to express their gratitude to her son in law Randy for always being there to provide the love, care and comfort Diana needed. Diana loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Diana is survived by her son, Thomas "Doug" (Donna) Daniels; a daughter, Lora "Michelle" (Randy) Cantrell; step sons, TJ (Denise) Ellington and Michael Ellington; grandchildren, Cody (Alicia) Davis, Rebecca (Steven) Hilby, Makayla Cantrell, Tanner Daniels, Riley Daniels, Teddy, Kamina and Amiri Ellington; great grandchildren, Layla "Laylay" and Josie (Precious); a brother, Dan (Lori) Daniels; sisters, Tena (Wayne) East and Nancy Clark; and other numerous family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Duke.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Diana's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, the Wounded Warrior Project and the American Heart Association.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Diana will be laid to rest following the services beside Duke at Fairfield Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
