WHITAKER, Derek "Boogie" W. Jr, age 7, of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Derek was born December 10, 2004.
He is survived by his mother, Nina (Jessie, Sr.) Combs; father, Derek W. (Heather Barnett) Whitaker Sr.; brothers and sisters, Robert "Boobers" Frazier, Isiah Whitaker, Kayden Whitaker, Gracelynn Combs, Shelby Spurlock, Tristin Spurlock and Leevie Combs; maternal grandmother, Celeste Grooms; maternal grandfather, Keith "Papaw" (Beverly "Mamaw" Sarvis) Grooms; paternal grandmother, Leona Combs; paternal grandfather, James Combs; step-grandmother, Betty Combs; step-grandfather, James; aunts and uncles, aunt Nanna (Uncle Mikey) and aunt Brandy (John Ates), Jimmy Joe, Jessie Combs, aunt Shell, Amanda Combs, Justin (Bambi Sizemore) Tomason, Mike Whitaker, April Hartley, Gordon Watson, Josh Whitaker; and numerous other relatives.
Derek was preceded in death by a baby brother, Jessie Ray Combs Jr.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home (4104 Needmore Rd.) with visitation 1 hour prior to time of the service. Donations may be made to the family in care of the funeral home. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
Derek will be truly missed by his entire family and the entire n.b.o.t. family.
