Derek B. Jones, age 50, of Trotwood, Ohio passed away suddenly on Monday, April 14, 2014.
He was born in Dayton, Ohio on February 9, 1964.
Proceeded in death by his father, Norman G. Jones and was a proud member of the last graduating class of Nettie-Lee Roth High School in 1982.
Derek is survived by his mother, Ann V. Jones, wife Jennifer Jones and children - Marcia (Eugene) Herron of Alabama, Kristi, Tatiana, and Hali of Florida, Kayla & Marcus Fair.
Also, one grandchild, Eugene Herron Jr. (Alabama) and Staffordshire bull-terrier (and best animal friend) Asia. Siblings include Audwin (Mary) Jones, Yvette Hill, step-brother Ryan (Amber) Jones, step-sister Sonya Dunlap, mother-in-law, Jacqueline DePelma, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Derek was a co-owner of Angel-Hearts Home Health Care. Hobbies and special interests include exercise and nutrition, scuba diving, politics, technology, driving cross-country in his "Black-B" and was an avid fisherman.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19th, at 10:30 a.m. Family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a memorial service following at 10:30 a.m.
Service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424.
