Denzil "Dan" Paris Taulbee, 88, of Dayton, passed away on June 7, 2014 at Riverside Nursing Home. He was born on May 31, 1926 to the late Sewell and Ora (Agee) Taulbee of Pomeroyton, KY.
Dan served his country in the US Army during WWII, and held the rank of Sergeant in the 8th Field Artillery Battalion, Pacific Theater, and was awarded two Bronze Battle Stars. He was part of the Philippine Liberation Forces under General MacArthur, fighting in the Battles of Leyte Gulf and the Battle of Luzon. He worked as a machinist at NCR and as driver at Emery Worldwide. Dan loved to fish, hunt and garden.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Gladys Hargis and Marie Peyton, and brother Osa Taulbee.
Dan is survived by his children Randal (Colleen) Taulbee, Patricia (Vernon) Dunn, Pam (Josh) Ucar, David (Danette) Taulbee, and Ginger (Rob) Stuck. He is survived by 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Siblings Shirley Patrick and Larry Taulbee and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of friends and family will be held from 5-7 PM Friday, June 13, 2014, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, where a brief prayer and service tribute will be held at 6 pm.
