Denver Gibson, Jr., age 77, of Kettering, passed away September 21, 2020. He was born in Harlan County, Kentucky on January 12, 1943 to the late Denver Gibson, Sr. and Lena (Dixon) Gibson.
Denver served in the US Air Force from 1961-1965. He retired from Frigidaire/GM after 36 years of service.
Denver was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda (Branson) Gibson, his brothers, Lowell (Alice), Vaughn (Angelita), Doris (Carol), Ray Arnold, and his infant sisters, Christine and Anna Lee.
Denver is survived by his Dear Renee; his sons, Denver (Leigh) Gibson, Darryl (Laura) Gibson, and Chad (Andrea Boggs) Gibson; grandchildren, Amber (Nate) Connor, Brittany (Brian) Bowling, Kayla (Joe Neeb) Gibson, Savannah (Raina Rue) Gibson, Mackenzie (DeAnna) Gibson, Gabe Gibson, Destiny Gordon; great-grandchildren, Elliana, Kayden, Mason, and Branson, and his sister, Clotene (Kenneth) Noel. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and his "adopted" family.
Denver was a hard worker but never for himself. He was self-sufficient and could do anything he put his mind to. Denver was giving and selfless, quick witted with a sense of humor. He had a strong opinion and was "very thoughtful for a man who forgot everything". He enjoyed Dominos especially with his brothers, Euchre, Corn Hole and Horseshoes all with a competitive spirit. Denver had a fondness for Western movies and enjoyed "Classic Country" Karaoke. "Denver loved him some Denver".
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Lifepointe Church, 4555 Marshall Road, Dayton, Ohio 45429. Entombment will follow at David's Cemetery Memorial Mausoleum.
