Dennis John Wear, "Denny", age 79, of Moraine, passed away Monday, February 13, 2023. He was born March 27, 1943 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Hubert Douglass and Mary Elizabeth "Mollie" (Dalton) Wear. Denny graduated from Centerville High School where he excelled at baseball, track and basketball. He went on to attend Wentworth Military Academy as well as the University of Cincinnati. Denny then enlisted in the US Army and was a very proud Veteran that served overseas in Korea. He was also a longtime, active member of VFW Post 9927. Denny was retired from Frigidaire/GM after more than 20 years of service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his adopted daughter, Dawn Smith.
Denny is survived by his sons Paul E. (Felicia) Moore, Gregg D. (Ashley Ann Boger) Wear; his grandchildren Jack, Luke, Alisia (Dustin), Tyler, Ava (Braden), Lea, Angel, William and Jeremy; his great grandchildren Sebastian "Bash", Benjamin, and Blakely. He is also survived by his sister Martha Jane "Marti" (Louis Patrick) Garcia, Sr.; his nephews Scott William Keho, Bron Douglas Keho, Kevin Patrick Keho, Philip Jay Keho, along with many other loved ones and those proud to call him friend.
Denny was an avid Michigan football fan, he enjoyed fishing as well as growing tomatoes and sharing the harvest. He also had a strong interest in CB and Hamm radios, as well as cars, especially Corvettes. In his younger years Denny liked pit racing, and throughout his life he loved all types of pets especially dogs. He loved to cook and to host cookouts for family and friends and relished the time together.
Denny will always be remembered as the "life of the party". He had a tremendous sense of humor partnered with an accepting and caring heart. Denny was truly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 4:00pm until time of service at 6:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd.
