McCarthy, Dennis, age 73, of Dayton, passed away on January 7, 2016. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Rosita McCarthy and parents, James and Elizabeth McCarthy.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 35 years, Martha McCarthy; children, Dennis J. McCarthy, Jr. (Kelli), Scott Williams (Cheryl), Sean McCarthy (Amy), Karen Earley, Mary McCarthy, and Colin McCarthy (Ashley); grandchildren, Brandon, John, Zack, Erin, Addison, Kristen, Conner, Bryant, Kylie, Dillon, Ethan, and Christopher; great-granddaughter, Abby; brother, Robert McCarthy (Kathy); niece, Michelle McCarthy, as well as many friends.
He was a retired Sergeant with the U.S. Air Force having completed three tours in Vietnam as a medic. He also is a Purple Heart recipient. He was a 1961 graduate of Chaminade and retired from GM in 1998 after 33 years of service.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Monday, January 11, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Children's Hospital.
