Dennis L. Lawson

Dennis L. Lawson, affectionately known as "Pod", age 81 of Kettering, OH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Hospice of Dayton. He was born December 22, 1939 in Olive Hill, Kentucky to James and Nannie (Callahan) Lawson. He married Shirley Stone on January 1, 1960 and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2017.

Pod retired from Delco in 1997 where he worked in maintenance. He loved helping people unconditionally, had a great sense of humor and was a great storyteller. Pod loved Pepsi, music, especially live country music at festivals, dancing and taking pictures with his phone and enjoyed sharing all of this with his love Judy. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Pod is survived by his love and companion, Judy Howard; a sister, Mary; three brothers, James (Linda), Phil (Lou Jean) and Tom (Kay) Lawson; Judy's children, Johnny (Deb) Howard and Melissa (Chris) Kramer; Judy's grandchildren, Austin, Ethan, Grant, Peyton and Colby; his co-worker, neighbor and good friend, Dave Stevens; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
