Dennis Lee Jones, age 87 of Beavercreek, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022. He was born July 3, 1934 in Marion, Ohio the son of Lee and Iona Jones.
Dennis was a graduate of Marion Harding High School and Bowling Green University. He went on to pursue a career in federal service in April of 1958 as an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist at 2750th ABW Materiel Directorate Wright Patterson AFB. In January of 1987 he began his 12 year stewardship as Chief of Vehicle Management Branch in Air Force Logistics Command and Air Force Materiel Command where he continued until his retirement in 1999.
Dennis was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing softball, basketball, golf and bowling. He attended many University of Dayton games over the years.
He is preceded in death by his father, Lee H. Jones, mother, Iona Dell Jones and brother, Fred Jones.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 44 years, Charlene; daughter, Cassie (Chad Hannahs) Stacy; grandchildren, Christopher Stacy & Nicole (Matt) Looney; great grandchildren, Courtney, Hunter, Ryder & Harper; sister, Peg (Bill) Pickett; sisters-in-law, Lynn (Marvin) Hammack, Jane (Rick) Lester & Pamela Stafford and many nieces, nephews, friends and family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Dayton in Dennis' honor.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm with a service at 1:30 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432).
