Dennis Grooms

Dennis Eugene Grooms, 63, of Fairborn, Ohio passed away June 25, 2013 at Hospice of Dayton after a lengthy illness.

He was proceeded in death by his parents William and Janie Grooms of Dayton, Ohio.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 1/2 years Karen Grooms, his 3 daughters Tanya Grooms of Fairborn, Tammy Grooms of Fairborn, Kelli Aldrich (and son-in-law Danny) of Fairborn. His first granddaughter Jodi Grooms, who he raised and loved as his own, four grandchildren; Taylor, D,J, Adriana and Kaiden whom he adored. He also leaves behind one brother Lawrence (and wife Rosie) Grooms of Mt Orab, one sister Deborah Grooms of Cincinnati, Ohio along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

You never said "I'm leaving,"
You never said"goodbye,"
You were gone before we knew it,
And only God knows why.

There are no words to tell you
Just what we feel inside
The shock, the hurt, the anger
Might gradually subside.

A million times we'll need you
A million times we'll cry
If love alone could have saved you
You never would have died

In life we loved you dearly
In death we love you still
In our hearts you hold a place
That no one could ever fill

It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you
The day God took you home

Things will never be the same
And all though it hurts so bad
We will smile whenever we hear your name
And be proud you were our dad

He is very loved and he will be deeply missed, by all family and friends.


A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 from 12:00 Noon - 2:00 PM, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH. With a funeral being held at 2:00 PM, just following the visitation. Pator Don Payne officiating. Burial at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn, OH.
