Delores Jan "Dusty" Scarbrough, age 73 of Fairborn, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at Grandview Hospital. She was born on December 17, 1948, in Dayton, Ohio to the late James and Martha Scarbrough. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Al Henry and niece Sheryl Vallone.
Delores is survived by her son Joseph James Edward (Anita) Meyers; two grandchildren Joseph II and Julia Meyers; step grandson Jeremy (Kayla) Scherr and their two children Elijah and Aaliyah Scherr; brother James (Rita) Scarbrough and their two sons Greg and Jeff Scarbrough; sister Syble Henry and her daughter Janie (Marlin) Larson and her two sons Chris (Janet) and Tony (Jodi) Henry; best friend Tammy Wysong; and fiancé Roger Caplinger. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Dusty would want everyone to remember the good times they shared with her and forgive and let go any bad memories. A country girl at heart that could clean up well. She was known to melt a few hearts when she would sing. To know her as "Dusty" was to be her friend. She treated her friends like family and strangers as friends. Her word was her bond, she would be ready to fight for her beliefs, values, and to defend her family. She found it hard to turn away any animal in need. She is well loved and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
