Delores J. Lamb

July 15, 1933 — December 19, 2019

Delores J. "Dodie" Lamb, age 86 of Fairborn. Our beloved mother and grandmother was called to heaven on December 19, 2019. Dodie was born July 15, 1933 in Herrin, IL to Paul Feleci and Opal Craddock. She married her knight in shining armor, Adolphus "Al" Lamb, on October 10, 1958. Al was the love of her life, and she couldn't wait to see him again in heaven. They are probably in heaven dancing the night away.

Dodie is preceded in death, by her parents, her beloved husband Al, her sisters Joyce Boggs, and Genevieve Jenkins, brother Dale Yoder, daughter Donna Sue Brown, and granddaughter Amanda Slagle.

Dodie loved her family dearly. She is survived by her four daughters, Linda (Steve) Grulick, Pamela Wightman, Patricia (Kenneth) Roberts, and Janet (Joseph) Angi; grandchildren Kimberly Ham, Danielle (Dan) Imundo, Stephanie (Dan) Fitzgerald, Jennifer Roberts, Nicole (Jason) Kaeding, Christine Angi, and Christopher Grulick; Great grandchildren, Taylor Ham, Addie Imundo, Callie Imundo, Eddie Slagle, Tristan Burns, Adrianna Roberts, Kamryn Slagle, Kayden Burns, Noah Wojciula, Emalee Wojciula, Noelle Kaeding, Owen Kaeding and Annelise Grulick. She is also survived by very special friends, Patty, Roberta, Linda and Dale. Dodie leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and host of friends.

As if raising five daughters wasn't hard enough work, Dodie also worked as a bookkeeper. Throughout the years she worked for Wonderbread, E.F. McDonald, Rex TV, and Mark Prossert Construction. Dodie was a Member of the VFW Post 2800 Woman's Auxiliary, Shiloh Sportsman Club, and Milton Card Club. Dodie worked with The Orphans of the Pacific to help coordinate the yearly ship reunion. Dodie was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fairborn, where she was a member of the church's Seeker's Group. Dodie spent a lot of Wednesday afternoons making quilts with the ladies at church, she made beautiful quilts. For 23 years, Dodie and Al camped at Lake Laramie in Minster, Ohio, where she met some of her best friends. It was the weekends camping where she taught her grandchildren how to shop at yard sales and play cards. Dodie loved to play cards and did not like to lose.
Dodie was an amazingly strong and independent woman, she loved fiercely. She was a social butterfly and loved by everyone, she never met a stranger. Dodie had a heart of gold, and would help anyone with anything. Dodie had a contagious laugh, quite the sense of humor, and she loved to tell jokes. Dodie will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her, she was truly one of a kind.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1240 S Maple Ave, Fairborn, OH 45324. The memorial service will follow at 12:00 pm.
