Delmous Ray Lawson, age 73 of Dayton, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017. He was born March 8, 1944 in Hindman, Kentucky, the son of the late Melvin and Dora Lawson.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Clarence Edward Lawson.

Ray is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ramona; sons, Jason Lawson (Kim Goertz); Steve (Kayette) Wehunt; step-daughters, Paula (Shawn) Agee, Dorothea Davis; sisters, Nancy (Andrew) McPherson, Yvonne (Darold) Brown, Phyllis (Clifford) Hunter; brothers, Billy (Wanda) Lawson, Darvin (Gayleen) Lawson; a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray is a veteran of the United States Army and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed writing songs, playing the guitar and later in life, taught himself to play the keyboard.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 2 pm to 3 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - North Chapel (4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424). A memorial service will begin at 3 pm.
