Della Ratliff

Della Mae (Lester) Ratliff, died February 17, 2015 at Bethany Village care facility in Centerville, OH. She was born on May 21, 1929 in Dunham, KY, the daughter of the late Willie Estill "Bill" Lester and Malta "Maltee" (Salyer) Lester.
She married Troy Ratliff, the son of the late Martin Ratliff and Learlie (Smallwood) Ratliff, on February 28, 1948 in Jenkins KY. They moved to South Point, OH and lived there for most of their lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband (in 1991), and sons Martin Lester Ratliff (in 1956) and Troy Douglas Ratliff (in 2011). She was also preceded in death by her only brother, John Charles "JC" Lester of Dunham, KY (in 1921); sisters Venus Sorrell-Woodward of Knoxville, TN (in 2007); Opal Preston of Chapel Hill, TN (in 2005); and Clorine Scott of Antioch, TN (in 2011).
She is survived by one son, Jonathan Eugene Ratliff of Springboro, OH, one sister, Barbara Ellen "Bobby" Dorton of Altus, OK, and her daughters-in-law, Lori Denise (Anderson-McCraw) Ratliff of Culver, IN and Joanna Lynn (Schuler) Ratliff of Springboro, OH. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Heather Michelle Ratliff (Stafford, VA), Troy Michael Ratliff (Biloxi, MS), Jacob Morgan Ratliff, Eric William Ratliff, Samantha Faith Ratliff, and Benjamin Richard Ratliff (all of Springboro, OH); two step-grandchildren; Carissa Lynn McCraw (Kokomo, IN) and Aaron Thayne McCraw (Wheaton, IL); three great grandchildren, two step-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 pm on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bethany Resident's Gratuity Fund care of Bethany Village, 6443 Bethany Village Drive, Centerville, OH 45459.
