On Tuesday at 8:25 am, the Lord called his servant, Delilah Meek Amburn Home. Born at Boones Camp, Johnson County, Kentucky April the 16th, 1924. She left us on January the 8th 2019, at home in peace with most of her family gathered, making her stay on Earth 34,600 days.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert E. Amburn, Sr. and three grandsons. She had six children, Betty M. (Chester) Rose, Delbert E. (Cheryl Ann) Amburn Jr., Thelma G. West, Zell A. (Cheryl Ann) Amburn, Ida A. (Donnie) Cooper Turner and Robert L. (Song) Amburn; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She loved and cherished them all.
In her earlier years, Delilah worked as a "Rosie Riveter" in the war plants of Baltimore, Maryland. Later she worked as a custodian to several Fairborn businesses. Delilah was a loving mother and grandmother.
Delilah was baptized at the age of 16 and was a member of General Baptist Church on Vine Street in Fairborn, OH. Her ready smile and gentle manner and love for God will be missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Services will follow the visitation at 1:30 pm at the funeral home. Burial at Byron Cemetery will follow the services.
