Del Thomas, age 69, died Sunday, 26 July 2020. He was born on 4 Sept 1950 in Ogden, Utah, the oldest son of Marva Cragun Thomas and D. Ward Thomas.
He served in the United States Air Force for 14 years. Del had lived in the Beavercreek area since the 1980s. He held a B.A. in Business Communication from Wright State University, and worked in business development for local companies such as General Dynamics and ITC. He was active in area community theatres for many years, building sets and performing on stage primarily for Play House South, and Xenia area Community Theatre. He was a long time member of Kittyhawk Ski Club and the Dayton Hash House Harriers running club. He was an avid baseball fan his whole life and participated as a minor league player and local coach. He especially loved cheering on the OSU football team and the Cincinnati Reds from his favorite seat in his bar.
Del is survived by his daughter Audrie Thompson (Michael), grand-children Abigail and Olivia Thompson, his daughter April Thomas, grand-children Tyler Thomas, Lauren and Paige Dormal, his brothers, Brett Thomas (Polly), and John Statler (Joan), additional extended family, and by his significant other for 15 years, Janet Wentworth.
He was pre-deceased by his parents, his son Jeff Thomas, and his brother Richard "Dick" Statler.
There will be no calling hours or formal funeral services.
Friends of the family will be notified and invited to celebrate his life in Del's inimitable style at the home he shared with Janet.
