YOUNG, DeForrest E., 76, of Kettering passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at The Hospice of Dayton.
He volunteered for Wayne Township Fire and Rescue for 25 years and retired as Assistant Chief. DeForrest owned Dee's Spouting Service for 35 years.
He is preceded in death by his sons Michael and James Young; daughter-in-law Ranae Young; and granddaughter Sasha Casper. DeForrest is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine; sister Darlene (Don) Blosser; sons William (Jackie) and Robert (Tina) Young; daughters Kathleen (Daniel) Day and Linda (Rick) McNees; daughter-in-law Barbara Young; 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.His passion was family and the fire department.
Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday March 31, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Rd. Funeral Mass will be held 12:00PM Friday, April 1, 2011 at St. Albert the Great, 3033 Far Hills Ave.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Hospice of Dayton or St Vincent's Hotel.
