Debra Lynn (Francis) Bailey, 63, passed away at Hospice of Dayton on Sunday, July 23, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. She was born on August 28, 1953 on Ramey Air Force Base in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, the first-born daughter of James and Phyllis Francis.
Debra is survived by her husband E. Robert Bailey, daughter Beth (Don) Wheeler, sons Jeffrey and Brian Burdine, and grandchildren Margaret, Dominik and Lily Wheeler, Kylah Burdine, and Conner and Kaylee Owen. She is further survived by her father James Francis and sisters Denise (Dennis) Blake, Danette (Tim) Tritch and Diane Peters, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family in Bob's sons and daughters, and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother Phyllis Francis, grandparents Hazel and William Centers and Robert and Ruth Francis.
A Fairview High School graduate, Debra began a career distinguished by loyalty. She worked for years as a typesetter with Brown and Kroger Printing. She went on to be the Administrative Director at American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology - HNS. She retired in December of 2016.
Debra and Bob enjoyed many years of boating on Lake Cumberland in Kentucky sharing that joy with family and friends.
The family wishes to thank the staff and volunteers at Hospice of Dayton and other healthcare professionals for their compassionate care of Debra and their support of her family.
A funeral service will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd. Dayton, Ohio on Thursday, July 27 at 1:30pm. The family will receive visitors from 12:30 - 1:30 before the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton.
