Deborah Lynn Glick, age 63, of Kettering, OH, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023.
Debbie was born on August 24, 1959 in Cincinnati, OH to Sherman and Catherine Yearion. Her joyful and adventurous childhood was shared with her loving brothers and sisters, Jackie, Gary, Terry, and Ricky. After graduating from Aiken high school in 1977, she started working at various greenhouses where she developed her natural "green thumb."
Deb often went shopping at the local grocery store, Liberals, which is now known as IGA. This also happens to be the place where she met Craig Glick, who was working as a cashier at the time. She would often find herself in his lane just to see him.
Deb eventually gave her hand to Craig and they were joined in marriage on September 20, 1980. During their 42 years of matrimony, she was blessed with two wonderful children, Justin and Carmen. They also have one grandchild, Noah, whom she would normally call, "Newt."
In her younger years, she also worked in different serving and bartending positions at places like Boswell's Alley and BaCalls Cafe. She enjoyed the trade so much, she and her husband eventually worked to open their own bartending school in Dayton, OH, and aptly named it Dayton Bartending School. Once the Dayton location took off, they opened a second location in Cincinnati, OH, which they owned and operated for approximately 17 years.
Some of the most memorable things that her family will always remember her for: her nicknames D-Ball and Double-Down Deb; her favorite boxed wine, Franzia; how much she enjoyed family gatherings at "Ball Hill;" her love for black jack and visiting the casinos; she loved Jeopardy; her favorite bands The Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers, and of course The King himself, Elvis Presley.
Debbie joined her parents Sherman and Catherine Yearion in eternal life. She is survived by her husband William Craig Glick, her Son Justin Glick (Amy), Daughter Carmen Mazzi (Steven), grandson Noah, brothers and sisters Jackie Fighter, Gary Yearion, Terry Eppert (Doug), Ricky Yearion (Mary Jo), as well as many brother and sister in-laws, and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2:00pm to 3:00pm for the public, at Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek (3380 Dayton Xenia Rd) on Saturday August 26, 2023with a funeral service to follow at 3pm.
