Deborah Lynn Carpenter (71) passed peacefully on Monday, September 6, 2021. Debby was born September 22, 1949 in Frenchburg, Kentucky, however she lived most of her life in the Dayton, Ohio area.

Family was first in Debby's life. She was generous with her time, affection and resources to those that she loved. She was a devoted daughter, loving mother, caring sister and doting grandmother. Debby was preceded in death by her parents Geraldine and Jesse Carpenter. She is survived by her daughter Kristie (Todd) Hopf, grandchildren Jonah Reynolds, Kat Hopf, Laurel (Isaiah) Mighell, Ardyn Hopf, and Lillie Hopf. Debby was the second oldest of 7 children, she is survived by her siblings June (Gary) Isaacs, Gail (Jim) Garcia, Robin (Rick) Lattimer, Jill (Mark) Goodwin, Mark (Lisa) Carpenter, and Kelli Smith. There are many aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews that will also miss her.

Debby graduated from Belmont HS in 1967. She worked as a waitress downtown during highschool then started a job as an operator with Ohio Bell. She retired from Ohio Bell/Ameritech after almost 30 years. After retirement, Debby also worked briefly as an aide at C.F. Holliday Elementary and was a Master Gardener. Her greatest role was that of "Nene" and she loved taking care of and spending time with her grandchildren.

Debby lived and worked in Budapest, Hungary for 5 years. She loved to travel and visited places that most only dream of; African safaris, Egyptian pyramids, the Eiffel Tower, and the Grand Canyon were just the beginning of her adventures.

The family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help feed students in need at Pirate Pack Events c/o 12991 Newburg Court, Dayton, Ohio 45458 or to help continue research for Multiple System Atrophy athttps://www.multiplesystematrophy.org/msa-memorial-donations
