Johnson, Deana Lynn (Durbin) age 64, of Kettering, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 3, 2020 surrounded in love by family. Deana was preceded in death by her father, James Woodrow Durbin. She is survived by her husband, David Johnson, sons Jared Nash, David Johnson, and grandson Andrew Johnson. She is survived by her mother Susan Durbin and two sisters, Donna (Stephen Pope) Durbin and Deborah (Tom Moore) Durbin. She is survived by her nephews Jacob (Brooke) Pope, Joshua (Elena) Pope, Jonathan Pope, Aaron Durbin, Luke Moore; and niece Alexandra Moore; great nieces and nephews: Maliegha, Mia, Naiya, Keira, Ava, Eli, Max, Rory, Judah, Weston, Anderson, Frankie, Freddie and Georgia. Sister-in-law, Kay Conley, many cousins and aunts and uncles. She is also survived by her best friend since grade school, Gloria Beavers.
Deana graduated from Carroll High School in 1973 and received an associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Sinclair Community College. She retired from USAir where she worked for over 30 years. She was fun-loving, deeply loved her family, and always thought of others before herself. She showed tremendous courage with her battle of cancer. She also loved decorating and had a knack for making everything look beautiful.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Albert the Great Church 3033 Far Hill Ave on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 12:00 pm. A private burial will take place at a later date. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to all nurses, doctors and staff, especially her nurse Lisa Adducio Bennett, who cared for Deana. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
