Dayton H. Calloway

Dayton H. Calloway age 87 of Enon passed away unexpectedly at Kettering Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 20, 2010. Dayton had a wonderful journey of life, and in his youth he was very artistic and enjoyed making card-board models, which he then sold to churches, banks, hospitals, etc. to be used as the prospective facility. He also worked at the Baldwin Piano Company to help build the Grand Piano. He worked for Burton Dodgers Company in Cincinnati, Ohio building models for professional purposes.

His main job was at the Orientation Group AFOG at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. He designed wonderful displays that traveled all over the world to promote the U.S. Air Force. After AFOG he started his own company of Theatres in the Round and sold his theatres to ARMCO Steel, Union Pacific Pact, and the government of Venezuela for their centennial and many more.

He spent five years working for Brown and Root in Houston, Texas working on the design of an atomic electric plant. He taught computer auto cad for several companies in the Dayton area. Dayton attended the University of Cincinnati and majored in Fine Arts. He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

Dayton is survived by a host of wonderful nephews, nieces and many friends and a devoted partner Keith McMurray. There will be a memorial service at the United Church of Christ in Fairborn, Ohio to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
