David L. Woolley, age 71 of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio, son to the late James and Thelma Woolley.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He worked as a Tool & Dye maker, and at Handyman Ace after his retirement. In his younger years, David played drums and traveled with a Drum and Bugle Corps. Baseball and softball was a big part of his family growing up, and he kept up that tradition with his family. Over the years, David coached his boys and grandchildren as well as umpired. He formed many strong bonds and spent many summers out at the ball fields. David and Janice bowled together for many years and even won some tournaments. He was an avid hockey fan and the family always had a camper and went on many wonderful vacations. David was always supportive of his sons and lived for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brother, Richard "Dick" (Barbara) Woolley.
David will be missed by his loving wife of 50 years, Janice; sons, Jason (Leslie) Woolley, Chris Woolley and Russell (Missy) Woolley; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren with one on the way; an uncle, Clifford (Janet) Loeb; and many cousins.
Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in David's memory to the American Cancer Society or the ALS Association.
