David "Davey" Shelor, 59, of Dayton, passed away January 11, 2015. He was born January 31, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Albert and Vanda (Morgan) Shelor.
Davey attended Northridge High School and JVS and was a member of the Dayton Irish Club for 10 years. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, anything outdoors, but he adored working on his '68 Chevy Camaro. He also enjoyed cooking and baking. Davey's greatest love was spending time with his loving family, wife and beloved dogs, Maddie and Duke.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert R. Shelor, Jr.
Davey is survived by his wife of 9 years, Michele "Shelly" Shelor; mother,Vanda Shelor; daughter, Morgan Sering of FL; grandchildren, Lorelai, Brendan, Liam; sisters, Susan (Wayne) Essex, Elizabeth (Greg) Bergman; mother-in-law, Katherine Petrick; sister-in-law, Linda (Tom) Krol; aunts and uncles, Reid (Linda) Morgan, Mary Holloway, Leo (Mary) Shelor; nieces and nephews, Alysia and Aaron Cvengros, Stephanie Copfer, Sara (Boyd) Matthews, Michael (Leslie) Essex, Amanda Bergman, Sara (Dustin) Schwartz; and many good friends.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Thursday, January 15, 2015 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton. Funeral Services will be held 10 AM, Friday at the Funeral Home with Davey's brother-in-law, Dr. Wayne Essex officiating. Burial at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
