David Vincent Schoenung

December 11, 1956 — March 6, 2025

Dayton

David Vincent Schoenung, a cherished soul and vibrant spirit, departed this life on March 6, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, with his loving family gathered by his side. Born on December 11, 1956, David was a beacon of joy and strength, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.

A proud graduate of Fairmont East High School, Class of 1975, David was defined by an unyielding dedication to his family and a work ethic that reflected his character as a relentless fixer—a "Fix-It" kind of guy. He spent many years of his career with F.C. Industries before his retirement.

His life was a rich tapestry woven with threads of fun, kindness, and charisma. He was a man who filled the lives of those around him with boundless joy and laughter, his hilariously vibrant presence lighting up any room. All who knew David felt welcome, supported and loved. As a devoted husband, he shared a deep and abiding love with his beloved wife, Lisa. Together, they nurtured a family built on respect, unity, and unconditional support.

As a father, David bestowed his affection abundantly upon his daughters, Chelsea (Ringo) Schoenung and Carly Schoenung, guiding them with wisdom and humor, celebrating their milestones and wrestling through life's challenges together. He also held a special place in the hearts of his siblings—Karla Greene, Rick (Connie) Schoenung, Jenny (Mike) Yoder, and Kate (Dennis) Vannorsdall. The familial bonds he fostered extended into a realm of loving nieces, nephews, and friends, each one a testament to the life he enriched through his warm spirit.

David embraced life with vigor outside of his professional pursuits. His hobbies were diverse, spanning from woodworking to listening to music, activities that not only sparked joy within him but also showcased his creativity and talent. It was often said that he brought joy to others, an assertion echoed by all who were privileged to know him.

His feline companions, Gypsy and Ziggy, remained by his side, a reflection of his caring nature and love for all creatures, adding warmth and comfort to his family life.

As we gather to celebrate the remarkable life of David Vincent Schoenung, we will hold dear not just the memories of laughter and love, but also the lessons he imparted through his vibrant, fun-loving approach to life. A visitation will take place on Friday, March 14, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM, all at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio.

Though David has departed from this earthly realm, he will be deeply missed. The love he shared and the joy he spread will continue to resonate in the hearts of all who were graced by his presence.

Donations may be made in his memory to SICSA (Society For The Improvement Of Conditions For Stray Animals), 8172 Washington Church Rd., Washington Township, OH 45458.
