David Richard Ward, age 74, of Dayton, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020. David was born March 24, 1946 in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Eugene A. & Lois I. (Pressler) Ward.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Donald V. Ward.
David is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Irene A. Ward; daughter, Dasun Richelle; step-sons, James M. (Deborah) Davis and Patrick C. (Jennifer) Baty; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-laws, Dr. Susan Lobacz (Howard) Hecht and Kathleen M. (Scott) McMillan; brother-laws, James J. (Pamela) King and John J. (Lora) King; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
David was an avid Ham Radio operator for 50 years, W8BAQ. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years. David belonged to the American Legion Post #675.
David will be laid to rest at Dayton National Cemetery.
