David Marcel Ort, age 68, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023 in Dayton, OH. He was born on June 3, 1954 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Mary and Ivan Ort.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Thomas Ort, Jimmie Ort, Ivan A Ort, Charles "Chuck" Ort and his first grandchild, Brittany Ort.
He is survived by his children Letitia (Robert Minton III) Ort-Newton, Joshua (Lyn) Ort and Brandon (Samantha) Ort; his grandchildren, Dillon Strong, Erika Strong, Rylee Ort, Sadie Ort, Shelby Bretelson, Kelsey Buhrman, Kristin Minton and Kaitlin Minton; his great-grandchildren, Easton Strong, Emmie Strong, Kiya Zingery and Beau Bretelson; his 1st ex-wife and friend for 53 years, Carolyn Prater; his 2nd ex-wife and friend for 35 years, Laura Ort; his half-brother Jerry Ort and his half-sister Marsha Conner; his nephews, Richard and Michael and his niece, Sarah. He is also survived by his grand fur babies, Chopper and Bitzi and a host of friends.
David enjoyed trivia and watching westerns, especially GunSmoke. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held May 13, 2023 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Newcomer Funeral Home - North Chapel. David will be laid to rest in Willow View Cemetery where a graveside service will be held, beginning at 11:30 am.
