David M. Garner Sr.

David M. Garner Sr., age 85 of Dayton, Ohio passed away January 25, 2025. He was born September 21, 1939 in Dayton, Ohio son of the late John (Susie) Garner Sr. 

David was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was an avid race car driver, dancer, and an expert craftsman. David owned his own business, Dave Garner Floor and Wall for over 50 years. He enjoyed bringing laughter to those around him and putting a smile on their face. David wanted those around him to strive, spreading his knowledge to those to help further themselves through mentoring.He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. 

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his brothers, John Robert "Pete" Garner Jr. and Ronald Singleton "Sam" Garner. 

David is survived by his wife of 8 years, Eugenia "Jeannie" Garner; children, David Garner Jr., Tammie L. (Marvin) Garner-Center, Aaron Kemp, Jacinda Kemp, Brian Kemp; grandchildren, Robert E. Jackson III, Tiffanie J. Davis, Ryan C. Jackson, Kayne Woods, Kaia Woods, Elise Kemp, and Brenna Kemp; great grandchildren, Dominic W. Jackson, Rylie Rae Jackson, Charlie Grace Jackson, Jacob Davis, Caleb Davis; sister, Anita "June" Williams; as well as numerous other family members and friends. 

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A funeral service will begin at 1:30pm with burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
