David Lorenz, age 71, was born to the Philip and Irene and raised in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. He eventually made his way to Ohio where he studied at Wittenberg and earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts from the Dayton Art Institute. This move to Ohio allowed him to meet his bride, Patricia. David and Patricia were married on April 14th, 1973. They had two daughters, Gretchen and Katie.
David was an Eagle Scout, avid photographer, started a printing company, and later started a fine are reproduction company, Park Bench Studio. He enjoyed volunteering at AIM for the handicapped, Carriage Hill Farm, and The House of Bread, as well as volunteering at St. Peter Church for many years. He was an avid dog lover and most enjoyed photographing nature. The challenge of finding the perfect spot for a great picture excited him and frustrated his family on their many travels for family vacations. He loved camping, hiking, sailing and canoeing.
David's artist statement was, "I take pictures because I can't draw."
David is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Huber Heights; brothers, Doug Lorenz of Houston, TX and Gene Lorenz of Syracuse, NY; and daughters, son-in-laws and grandchildren, Gretchen & Erich Courtad (Luke, Colt and Tia) of Troy, OH and Katie & Ryan Sedlack (Jack, Sophia, and Brandt) of Troy, OH.
