David L. Bannister

David L. Bannister, age 84 of Kettering, passed away Friday, May 8, 2015. He was born September 8, 1930 in Greenville, Ohio the son of Grant and Dorothy Bannister. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. David was a avid golfer which included four hole-in-ones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Joan Bannister; brother, Richard Bannister; two brother-in-laws, Jerry Gordon and Robert Wachtel.

David is survived by his son, Bob (Sherry) Bannister; sister-in-law, Mary Lou Gordon; niece, Gwen (Ken) Miller; nephew, Steve (Donna) Gordon; and a niece; Anne (Larry) Carpenter. He is also survived by numerous friends.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 16, 2015 from 1:00 pm until time of service at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
