David Joseph Rose, age 78, of Xenia, Ohio moved on to heaven on April 15, 2022 at Dayton Hospice, surrounded by his family on April 15, 2022.
He was born April 12, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio and was preceded in death by his parents Ruby Oren and Colby Rose and grandson Dillon Rose.
David is survived by Dian, his loving wife of twenty years; four children, eight grandchildren; twelve, great-grandchildren; one, great-great grandchild; as well as numerous other family members and friends; his daughter Candy (Robert) McBride, OH with granddaughter Sarah (Jason) Eskew, great-granddaughter Brianna and great-great-grandson Nathaniel Abner, Jr., grandson Ray (Angela) Dickerson and great-granddaughter Taylor and great-grandsons Noah, Josiah and Elijah Dickerson;
his daughter Dawn (Leon) Fields, OH with granddaughters, Reva Simpson and great granddaughter Carley, Renee (Nate) Jackson, great granddaughters Jasmine and Harley Rae, granddaughter Robin and great granddaughter, Emilee , OH ; his son David D., OH with his grandsons David A. (Dawn-Waller) Rose great grandson Kayden, great granddaughters Lilyanna, Ekoh, grandson Dustin Rose, son Matthew Rose of CA, Step-daughter Lisa (Mike) Sweeney of OH, grandsons Rodney with great-grandsons Coltyn, Liam and great-granddaughter Ariya and grandson Seth Lambert, and Mark Leland. Step-grandchildren Elizabeth McBride and great-granddaughter Alexis Pena,
Robert McBride III and great-granddaughter Cheyenne and great-grandsons Christian, Robbie and Ryder McBride.
David was also known as "Bulldog", a nick name he chose admiring the spirit of a bulldog which stands for and represents his true character; unrelenting courage, stubbornly loyal and determined and very protective of his family. The bulldog will amazingly swiftly, protecting those around them and what they perceive to be their territory and family. People with this spirit animal are gregarious by nature and enjoy bringing others to laughter. People with this power animal also know how to time things to get the best results in life, David would often say softly softly to catch a monkey. David was all these things to his family and friends and did not know a stranger. David was extremely proud of and deeply loved his children and grandchildren and was called dad, grandpa and pap paps.
David was free spirited and had many passions and traveled the world, encouraged us all to explore our own way in life and was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life to the fullest and not letting anything get in our way of doing so.
His life will be celebrated at Dayton Avenue Baptist Church 1121 Dayton Ave, Xenia, OH 45385 on April 30th at noon. Newcomer Funeral Home is assisting the family.
