*****Afterthoughts*****

Above all, Family came first. He loved deeply his wife, and cherished his 3 boys. He spent countless hours and miles with his brother, Jim--but always had a time of remembrance of his parents and siblings gone and loved spending time with those still living. Pointing back to Don and Vergie, Family is what got us through those hard times and that was always prevalent in our lives.

Dave didn't know a stranger, nor did he question anyone's choices. He trusted that everyone would do the right thing. He genuinely appreciated every conversation and enjoyed meeting new people. Even if that meant answering car questions while out at dinner. More than once, after eating, he would be out under a car in the parking lot. "Got to make sure they can get home," he would say.
His laugh was his Trademark.

His favorite time of year was Spring. "It's the time everything blooms and comes alive." Allergies be damned. The world was full of color and critters. That was his time.

He knew when someone needed a break. Whether it was buying someone a lunch, fixing a car and being willing to wait for payment, or giving someone a ride and paying for a gas can and gas. Once someone came to the shop, looking for any kind of work. He was just released from his job but was worried because of his kids. Dad without hesitation, offered to take them to the grocery store and buy whatever they needed. He always looked for the best in people and usually found it.
