David Alan Horst, age 62 of Dayton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was born in Dayton to the late Virginia and James Horst. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Matthew Horst; brother, John Horst; brother-in-law, Leo Itol; wives, Barbara Sagowitz and Gail Coleman; and grandmother, Helen Armstrong.
David is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Elsa Horst; children, Brian Horst, Daniel Horst, Cassandra Horst, Jerecho Horst; grandchildren, Anthony and Trinity Horst; sisters, Sharon Slaughter, Cathy Trout, Jackie Brooks, and Susan Stanley; uncle, Gary Weaver; special friends, Pastor Brian Kittner, Lynn Morris, Mike, and Alan; and many other loving relatives and friends.
David had a passion for Harley bikes and a love for boating and fishing. He also enjoyed working on cars in his free time. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He was also preceded in death by his monkey, 13 years sober.
The family would like to say a special thank you to all the nurses, doctors, and staff at Hospice of Dayton for all their love, compassion, and support during this difficult time.
A memorial service will be held at Agape Church on Harshman Road on Friday October 18 at 4:30pm
