Hapner, David L., age 69, of Medway lost his battle with lung cancer on Friday, May 11, 2007 at his home. He was born January 5, 1938 in Dayton, OH, the son of Lester A. and Lulu O. Hapner. He retired from Ironworkers Local 290. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Ken, Paul, and Dick Hapner. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughters, Debbie (Nick) Yardich of Tequesta, FL and Diane (Tim) Hoffer of West Carrollton, OH; son, David Hapner, Jr. of Medway; grandchildren, Seth and Samantha Hapner and Nicky Yardich; brothers, Don (Ruby), Bob (Joyce), and Phil (Jackie) Hapner; sisters, Barbara (Eddie) Weber and Sara Mohrman; many nieces and nephews; his good friends, J.R., Butch and the rest of the Weatherwax Gang, with whom he loved to play golf. David was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. A memorial service to celebrate David's life will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio with John Stevenson officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12 PM until the time of services. A gathering of family and friends will follow the services at the home of Phil Hapner.
