David Willard Coterel Sr., 82, passed away peacefully at home on May 16, 2024.
Born on January 2, 1942, in Chillicothe, Ohio. David was the son of the late Willard and Urcel (Swinning) Coterel. He was a graduate of Stivers High School in Dayton, Ohio. David married Dorthy (Reed) in 1961, raising two kids together. He also had 35+ years of dedicated service with General Motors/Delco Products.
David was preceded in death by his first wife Dorthy (Reed) and his siblings Basil, Ruth, Charles, Marvin and Donald.
He is survived by his second wife Rena (Allen); children Gwendolyn (Gerald) Coterel Schmidt, David (Kimberly) Coterel, Valene Allen, and Ashley Allen; grandchildren Alli, Dorthy, Gracelyn, Brayden, Lillee and Sophee; sister Diana as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
David will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Family will be celebrating David's life in private.
