David Combs

David A. Combs, age 96 of Dayton, passed away October 19, 2014. He was born August 22, 1918 in Clayhole, KY to the late Leslie and Serena Combs. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his son, James Stephen Combs; brothers: Ashford Combs and Stephen Combs; and sisters: Hazel Haddix, Lori Campbell, Winnie Richie and Dew Westfall.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Anna Combs; children: Yvonne (William) Reece; Bobby Combs, David (Kimberly) Combs, Kenneth (Julie) Combs, Rebecca (Ronald) Roark, Marlon Combs and Zelda Hensley; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

David was a decorated Army Veteran who served during WWII.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 24, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1-2 pm. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Contributions may be made in David's memory to The Hospice of Dayton.
