David "Big Dave" Colbert, age 76, of Dayton, passed away January 7, 2023. He was born July 2, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Albert and Anna Colbert. In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Jean Colbert; and siblings: Elbert, Sarah Elizabeth and Jeri Ann.
Dave is survived by son: David Colbert (Susan); daughter, Chelcia Colbert; grandchildren: Corey, Cortney and Cameren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, James Salyard; sister, Genevieve O'Gilve; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including: Stan Jackson and Benny Willis.
Dave was a dedicated, hard worker who retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He was known for his jolly spirit and deep voice.
