David C. Hartsock

David C. Hartsock, 76, of Beavercreek, OH, passed from this life on May 11, 2014. He was born November 17, 1937 in Bellefonte, PA.
David retired from the USAF in October 1984 after 24 years of service to our country. He was a Penn State Alum and an avid PSU football fan. David became "Grandpa Lion" because of his passion for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He was the first varsity bowling coach for Beavercreek High School beginning in 2005 and led them to the State Championship in 2007. His hobbies included bowling, woodworking and bird watching. David was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Linda; daughters, Jessica (David) Maddy and Anna Grace Hartsock; grandsons, Alexander and Declan Maddy; nephews and family in PA.
David was preceded in death by parents, John and Jessie Maude (Sharer) and sister, Anna Grace Corey.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, OH 45432. Private Graveside Services will be held for David.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Lung Association.
