Brackney, David S. was born August 19 1941 in Dayton OH. He was the youngest child of Alfred and Sallie (Patterson) Brackney.
David attended Stivers High School in Dayton where he graduated 3rd in his class. Upon graduation he attended the University of Dayton majoring in English and History. He worked for many years at Carillon Park in Dayton and had a lifelong love of Dayton History. He worked for the City of Dayton Water Revenue Dept for over 25 years. He was considered an excellent worker and won the Top Flight Award for his service to the city.
David was a devoted husband, an amazing father and grandfather and beloved by many. David was known for his love of trivia books and of course his beloved U.D. Flyers. With his dry wit he always pushed his children and grandchildren to do better.
David was recently preceded in death by his wife Iris Brackney of Dayton, his formerly mentioned parents Alfred and Sallie Brackney, and his brother Jerry. He is survived by his children, Kevin and Stephanie Brackney and Melanie and Michael Brown; his sister Charlene Brackney, and niece Donna.Royal both of Colorado. He is also survived by his beloved granddaughters Katelyn and Lily.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at the Church of the Ascension, 2025 Woodman Drive, Kettering, OH.
