David Allan Boyer, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born on February 22, 1955, in Lima, Ohio, where he spent his formative years and later graduated from Lima Senior High School, Class of 1973. Following high school, David pursued his passion for engineering at DeVry Ohio Institute of Technology, earning an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering in 1975.

David's career was marked by his inventive spirit and creativity, traits that defined not only his professional life but also his personal endeavors. He was known to be a laid-back person, who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. As a fun-loving grandfather, he took immense joy in the time spent with his grandchildren: Athena, Griffin, Phoenix, Helena, Rachael, Jessica, and Caleb, as well as his great-grandchildren, Halen and Daisy. His warm and playful demeanor made him a beloved figure among family and friends alike.

David had a variety of interests that enriched his life. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns and could often be found watching their games, expressing his loyalty and enthusiasm for the team. He also enjoyed working outside, finding solace in nature, and looked forward to family vacations in the Outer Banks, where he created lasting memories with his loved ones.

He leaves behind his devoted wife of 50 years, Janice Boyer, along with his children, Jason (Jennifer) Boyer and Valarie Barker. He is also survived by siblings Joe Boyer, Toby (Priscilla) Boyer, and Cheryl (Shannon) Fricke.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Boyer, and a brother, Jerry Boyer. His absence will be felt deeply by all who knew him, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. David will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and passions but also for the joy he spread to those around him. He truly lived life to the fullest, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
