David Michael Bates Sr., age 66 of Miamisburg, passed away on August 22, 2024 in Dayton, Ohio, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on March 31, 1958, in Xenia, Ohio.
A dedicated Quality Control and Safety-Environmental Officer, with MEB out of Chesapeake, VA. David exemplified professionalism and diligence in his work throughout his career. He was exceptionally talented in all areas and brought extensive industry experience to the table. However, if I had to highlight one thing David truly excelled at and was passionate about, it was helping others. For David, it didn't matter what kind of help was needed-whether it was something significant or a minor task-he always did whatever he could to assist.
David will be remembered for his deep faith as a follower of Jesus, spending time with grand kids and his enthusiasm as a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He cherished the moments spent with his wife, Eileen, attending Buckeye football games, which became treasured memories for both. He adored spending time with his beloved grandchildren. David enjoyed sitting on his back patio, observing the birds and squirrels that frequented his yard. He was also characterized by his deep patriotism and unwavering support for the military, reflecting a profound love for his country. David was a loving husband, father, and papaw who will be dearly missed. His legacy will endure in the hearts of those who had the privilege to know him.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Eileen Bates; son, David Michael Jr., & wife, Kathryn Bates; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Lucinda, Nora, David, Ruth, Joanna, Adelynn, & Hannah; brother, Dennis Bates; & sister, Georgianne Bates.
